This is evident by the relatively large number of comments she receives from a diverse group of readers.

This blog not only writes about HK girls and what they talk about among themselves when the outsiders are not present, but also a great deal about Hong Kong, its unspoken social codes, the mainland Chinese and so on. In addition to HK GIRL TALK, Jin writes a fashion blog, REMEDY ROUGE.

It may be stereotyping an identifiable group of people, however, the stereotypical type of HK girl depicted in HK GIRL TALK is part of HK's social reality. Through her "Internet-chat-room-ish", casual prose, Jin paints a picture of HK from the perspective of a stylish, savvy, socially active, twenty-something female Hongkonger. She is a HK girl version of a man-about-town.

Though deeply cynical, this blog highlights and reflects the time and culture we live in. Bold and unabashed, HK GIRL TALK tells it like it is with candor and without sugar-coating. Writing in a playful tone, this blog is a good diversion; it is fun to read. At the same time, it is revealing to those who are interested in seeing this city close up and hearing HK girls' unfiltered chatter.

Afterthought:

Knowing HK as well as any native does, it is puzzling to the
reviewer why a trendy HK girl like Jin Wong has not given herself
a Western name. By keeping her name, Jin, the blogger has a lot
of explaining to do to those fashionable people in hot parties or
social events she undoubtedly attends regularly.
