Joyce is a competent journalist. She can explain some complicated political or economics issues in just a few of her sentences --- no non-sense but not totally void of humour. And she can paint a relatively clear picture of the comings and goings of Hong Kong with ease. But don't expect you're getting the goods from a native-daughter who is baring her soul. Perhaps, because of her background, she's a bit more perceptive than her fellow foreign-born colleagues stationing here in Hong Kong.
