This HK blog, MHGOI, is truly a unique blog by an extraordinary person. The blogger is a published author of two critic-acclaimed novels, Boy Genius and Las Cucarachas. He is also a filmmaker and a playwright. This gifted storyteller and noted social commentator, Yongsoo Park, a Korean-American now living in HK, writes in lucid, modern American prose.

        Like a talented artist, he is imaginative and his HK blog is teeming with creative energy. He looks at the world in a panoramic view and Hong Kong as an intriguing place whose people have their own stories to tell from their own perspective on their own terms.         Mr. Park has been taking Cantonese lessons since he arrived here about a year ago and he already speaks some very well (as a Cantonese expert, SSPB can attest to that). The seemingly insignificant gestures of taking the trouble to learn the language of the people he lives amidst and not renaming himself, David, James or some other non-Asian name, speaks volumes about this Hong Kong blogger from New York.
